A remnant is what is left of a slab after a larger job is cut. It is the same stone, from the same block, with the same quality — there is simply less of it. For a powder room vanity, a bar top, a fireplace hearth or a laundry counter, a remnant lets you use material that would be extravagant across a full kitchen.
A remnant is where a client on a normal budget gets to use a genuinely rare stone. A dramatic Calacatta or an unusual quartzite that would be difficult to justify across forty square feet of kitchen becomes entirely reasonable across a six-square-foot powder room vanity — and in a small room, a bold slab has more impact than it would in a large one.
This is the single best-value thing in our yard and the least known. Most people never think to ask.
Remnants are limited by definition. If a piece will not work for your project we will say so rather than talk you into a compromise that needs an unnecessary seam. And if you are pricing a full kitchen, remnants are not the route — you want continuous material from slabs reserved together so the veining reads as one piece.
