Outdoor kitchens · Fabricated in our Bridgeport shop
An outdoor counter has to survive summer sun, freeze-thaw winters and a season of grill grease. CMG Stone fabricates outdoor kitchen countertops in large-format porcelain and granite for patios, terraces and pool houses across Fairfield County and Westchester, cut in our Bridgeport shop and installed by our own crew.

We recommend two materials outdoors: porcelain and dense granite. Porcelain is UV stable, stain-proof and frost-resistant. Darker, denser granites stand up to weather with occasional sealing. Engineered quartz discolours in sunlight and marble weathers outside, so we steer clients away from both.
Porcelain is printed on the surface rather than veined all the way through, so exposed edges need care. We build up outside edges with a mitred return so the pattern carries over the corner instead of showing a plain cut edge.

Two materials we recommend outside, and two we don't.
The cleanest, most modern look. Never needs sealing; a built-up edge protects against chips.
Thicker and more forgiving of impact. Seal it to keep grease and wine out.
The resin discolours in sunlight. Keep quartz inside.
Rain, sun and freeze-thaw wear at it quickly outside.
Either way, you choose the actual slab at our yard. Our guide to outdoor kitchen countertops in Connecticut goes deeper on materials, and our stone care guide covers cleaning up after grill season.

Porcelain or dense granite, chosen from full slabs at the yard.
Grill, side burner, refrigerator and sink cutouts come from the appliance specs.
We template once the base is built and any overhang supports are in.
Mitred edges are built in our shop. Template to install is typically one to two weeks.
See full slabs, not sample chips. Bring your cabinet plan or rough dimensions and a few photos of the room, and we'll show you stone that suits the space.

No. The resin in engineered quartz discolours in sunlight. Use porcelain or granite outdoors.
Porcelain doesn't. Granite should be sealed, and outdoor granite benefits from resealing more often than indoor stone.
