CMG — Cornerstone Marble & Granite — fabricates granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, porcelain and soapstone countertops in our Bridgeport shop, about ten minutes up the Post Road from Fairfield center. Everything is templated, cut and finished by us, then installed by our own crew. No middlemen, no subcontracted installs.
Fairfield's housing runs from beach-area capes to Greenfield Hill colonials and new construction off the Post Road, and the countertop work tracks with it: durable quartz and quartzite islands for busy family kitchens, full-height slab backsplashes, and honed marble where the look matters most — baths, bars and butler's pantries.
We also cut fireplace surrounds, outdoor kitchen tops in porcelain (quartz doesn't belong outside — UV discolors the resin), and remnant pieces for laundry rooms, hall baths and window sills.
Choosing a countertop comes down to two questions: how hard the kitchen works, and how much you mind a surface that changes over time. Families who cook every day usually land on quartzite or granite, because neither etches. If you love the look of Italian marble and are happy to live with a patina, honed marble is worth it. If you want no maintenance at all indoors, engineered quartz is the straight answer.
Outdoors is different. Patios and covered porches near the water see strong sun and hard freezes, so we steer outdoor kitchens toward large-format porcelain or dense granite. Quartz discolors in sunlight and marble weathers outside.

Start at the yard and pick your actual slab — not a three-inch sample chip. Once your cabinets are set, we digitally template, cut and finish everything in our own shop, and install. Template to install typically runs one to two weeks.

Do you work in Southport and Greenfield Hill? Yes. We fabricate for homes across Fairfield, including Southport, Greenfield Hill, Stratfield and the beach area, all from our Bridgeport shop.
How long does a kitchen take? Once cabinets are set, template to install is typically one to two weeks. From choosing your slab, the whole job usually takes four to six weeks, and most of that is the cabinet schedule.
What should I bring to the yard? Your cabinet plan or rough dimensions, photos of the room, and a cabinet door or paint sample if you have one. Yard visits are by appointment, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM.
