Kitchens · Fabricated in our Bridgeport shop
Your kitchen is the biggest piece of stone we'll cut for your house, and the one that works hardest. CMG Stone templates, fabricates and installs kitchen countertops in marble, granite, quartzite, quartz, soapstone and porcelain across Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY, with our own crew from start to finish.

Most kitchens mean perimeter runs, an island, and the cutouts that make them work: an undermount or farmhouse sink, a cooktop or range, faucet and soap holes, and sometimes a full-height backsplash or a waterfall end. Every piece is cut and finished in our shop, so the edges, sink reveals and seams all come from the same hands.
The slab comes first. You choose the actual slabs at our yard, by appointment, and we lay your template over a photograph of them so you can approve where the veining runs and where any seam falls before anything is cut.

Every stone behaves differently in a kitchen. Here is the short version; each page goes deeper.
The look of marble without the etching. Handles heat and daily cooking.
Won't etch and doesn't mind a hot pan. The hardest-working choice.
The most beautiful and the most demanding. Acids etch it, so we recommend a honed finish.
Non-porous and never needs sealing. Keep hot pans off it.
At home in farmhouse and older kitchens. Darkens with use; scratches oil out.
Stain-proof and heat-proof. Its one weak spot is chipping at the edge.
The edge matters more in a kitchen than anywhere else. A softer profile is kinder to hips and chips less, and the busier the stone, the simpler the edge should be. See every option on our edge profiles page, and read quartzite vs marble if you're torn between the two.
Real jobs from our shop. Each project page shows the stone, edge and finish.

From choosing your slab, the whole job usually takes four to six weeks, and most of that is the cabinet schedule.
Visit the yard by appointment and pick the actual slabs. We tag them in your name.
Once cabinets are installed and level, with the sink and cooktop on site, we template digitally.
You approve where the veining and seams fall, then we cut, edge and finish every piece in our shop.
Typically one to two weeks after templating. Most kitchens install in a single day.
See full slabs, not sample chips. Bring your cabinet plan or rough dimensions and a few photos of the room, and we'll show you stone that suits the space.

Most kitchens have at least one, because slabs come in finite sizes and many islands are longer than the stone. We place seams at a sink cutout or a natural break in the veining, and cut both pieces from neighbouring spots on the same slab so the pattern carries across. Yes, and you should. Visit the yard by appointment, choose your slabs, and we tag them in your name.
Someone should be, but it doesn't take all day. Cabinets need to be empty and the way in kept clear.
