Dense, uniform black granite with no veining. A quiet choice for contrasting islands and bar tops, and one of the most stain-resistant stones we cut.

Absolute Black is a dense, uniform black granite from southern India with no visible veining. It does not compete with the rest of the room, which is why designers use it for a contrasting island against pale perimeter counters, or for a bar top where the lighting and cabinetry carry the look.
It is one of the hardest and least porous stones we fabricate, and it holds a crisp edge profile. Leathered Absolute Black has a soft, matte surface that hides fingerprints, and it has stayed popular because it is practical.
See it in our black granite island in Trumbull.
Absolute Black has very low porosity, resists stains and does not etch. Sealing is mostly optional, though a sealer can help with fingerprints on honed and leathered finishes.
Polished and honed black granite show fingerprints, water spots and dust more than any other surface we install. Leathered hides all three, so it is the finish we usually suggest.
Every top is templated, laid out and cut in our Bridgeport shop and installed by our own crew. We photograph your slab, place the template over the photo, and you approve where the veins and seams fall before anything is cut. Installation is usually one to two weeks after templating. Natural stone changes from slab to slab, even within one name. Come to our Bridgeport yard, choose the actual slabs for your job, and approve the layout before we cut.
